Leading to COP26

On-demand

A Danish-British dialogue on cutting carbon, green recovery and partnerships

COP26 in Glasgow 2021 will be the COP where the world’s nation will take a stock-take of the Paris Agreement goals and path towards 2030 goals. The level of ambition and commitments will be in the center of the dialogue of the international climate negotiations. Where do we stand 6 years after the 2015 Paris Agreement and what can be done to reach the global goals of keeping a global temperature rise below 1.5-2 degrees Celsius. An important step towards COP26 is the discussions of green economic recovery and reducing emissions simultaneously.

Denmark has set an ambitious target to reduce green house gas emissions with 70% by 2030 (compared to 1990). The path towards the both global and national climate goals require partnerships across sectors and industries. The Danish government has initiated 13 climate partnerships with the Danish private sector to identify solutions and recommendations towards the 70% reductions.

At this high-level event Denmark and UK will discuss how we can keep the momentum towards COP26 and keep ambitions high in reducing both global and national emissions. Stakeholder from public, private, academic and citizens will give their take on how to take steps towards COP26 and 2030.
